  • Over 3,000 Boeing workers in Missouri and Illinois are set to begin striking after rejecting a four-year labour agreement.
  • The strike follows a landslide vote on 27 July by 3,200 workers who assemble and maintain advanced aircraft and weapons systems, including F-15 and F/A-18 jets.
  • The IAM Union stated that the proposed contract “fell short of addressing the priorities and sacrifices of the skilled IAM Union workforce”.
  • Boeing said they were “disappointed” by the decision, noting their offer included 40 per cent average wage growth and resolved issues on alternative work schedules.
  • The company confirmed it is prepared for the strike and has implemented a contingency plan to ensure continued customer support.
