The office of the Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) and the Mayor’s office in Sector 34 received a bomb threat via email on Thursday.
Following the threat, police and security agencies were put on alert. Local police personnel, along with dog and bomb disposal squads, reached the MCG office in Sector 34 and launched a search operation.
As a precautionary measure, the entire government complex was evacuated. Employees and members of the public present at the premises were moved to safety.
The email threatened to target the Municipal Corporation and the Mayor’s office.
Police teams remain at the spot and are conducting a thorough search of the premises.
