Most of the time, we only do touristy things like taking a guided tour and visiting museums when we’re traveling abroad.

However, these days, Malaysians are finding more appeal in playing tourist locally, which means doing touristy things like taking wide angle photos at KLCC and taking a stroll in Chinatown.

Recently, some of these Malaysians looking to explore Kuala Lumpur (KL) more have found that the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) actually offers a free guided tour around Merdeka Square (Dataran Merdeka).

According to its website, the walking tour is called the “Merdeka Square Heritage Guided Tour” and will bring participants to “12 heritage buildings around Merdeka Square (Dataran Merdeka), describing the history and architecture of each building and the interesting stories that happened around them”.

Everything sounds nice and lovely until some netizens pointed out a few questionable things about the tour and how it’s being promoted.

The website featuring the tour looks quite sketchy and the copywriting… let’s just say that there’s room for improvement!

“While they’re at it can they also please get a new copywriter, preferably one that doesn’t say ‘this info is kind of boring…’,” one netizen said in dismay.

Netizens also thought that using the phrase, “bombarded with a lot of information” in that context was funny.
