Kota Kinabalu: Miss International Malaysia 2023 received another boost with the strategic collaboration between organiser Persatuan Pentas Anak Seni Malaysia (PPASM) and Malaysian Genomics Resource Centre Berhad (MGRC).
PPASM will manage organisational aspects, including approvals and permits, while MGRCH contributes its top-tier expertise in immunotherapy and cell therapies.
The collaboration aims not only to promote health awareness but also to foster an environment where individuals are empowered to make informed health decisions.
The partnership, spotlighted at the Miss International Malaysia 2023 Grand Final on Oct 1, fuses entertainment, arts and culture with cutting-edge biopharmaceutical technologies like immunotherapy, CAR-T cells and Natural Killer (NK) cells, as well as MGRCH’s cosmeceutical products.

“Investors should recognise this collaboration as a broadening of our market scope and a reiteration of our commitment to innovative healthcare solutions,” he said in a statement, Monday.
PPASM President cum Miss International Malaysia 2023 Natioal Director Jawed Hussain Raman Wahid said in this line of work, they will need to always be in the best shape to give the best of ourselves in their work and to the audience.
“Working together with MGRC we can learn more about not just our health, but preventive healthcare as well.”
The partnership will kick off with both parties taking an active role in organising educational and promotional events.
These include but are not limited to online and offline campaigns that will benefit from the unique strengths of each partner.
PPASM’s connections in the arts and culture sector combined with MGRC’s scientific proficiency are expected to amplify the reach and impact of these health awareness campaigns.
The collaboration also has a charitable aspect, with net proceeds from the Miss International Malaysia 2023 event going to CSR initiatives such as Sandakan Breast Cancer Support Association, Kinabalu Pink Ribbon and the Meraki Daat Sabah Initiative.
This move ensures that the collaboration is not just beneficial in raising awareness and educating the public but also has a tangible impact on charitable organisations working in similar domains.
In the spirit of September being Blood Cancer Awareness Month, MGRC also recently collaborated with Malaysian Cancer Foundation to elevate cancer awareness and the importance of early detection within the community by utilising MGRC’s advanced genomic and immunotherapy service.
