Boosting Sabah’s energy sector

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd (SEC) is strengthening its collaboration with Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SE) and several other agencies to enhance Sabah’s energy sector.

Its Chairman, Datuk Annuar Ayub, said the collaboration is crucial to ensuring that planned energy projects are implemented successfully and deliver tangible benefits to the state.

He said SEC had also formulated a five-year development plan covering various energy projects to support Sabah’s development while helping to address the state’s energy challenges.

Annuar said this after paying a courtesy call on the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah, Tun Musa Aman, at Istana Seri Kinabalu, Thursday.

He said the visit was aimed at introducing SEC’s board of directors and management team to Tun Musa, while also briefing him on the company’s latest developments and future direction.

Also present were SEC deputy chairman Datuk Hassan A. Gani Pg Amir; SEC board member Datuk Indera Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman, who is also chairman of Asian Supply Base (ASB); fellow board members Datuk Afizal Aldin, Ir. Ts. Rohan Ahmat and Omar Salim Saidin; as well as deputy chief executive officer Ir. Ts. Ahmad Jafar.
