Bournemouth defender Chris Mepham insists they did all they could against Manchester City on Saturday.
City were impressive for a 4-1 win at Dean Court.
Mepham said, "When their goals come from sloppy play from us it's disappointing but teams like that will force you into errors.
"In the second half we just tried to stick with it. We gave it a go, at least the fans had something to cheer about.
"We always apply ourselves and try to get in their faces."
