Boy, 17, admits arson attack at London synagogue

  • A 17-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to arson after an attack on Kenton United Synagogue in north-west London.
  • The teenager, who cannot be named due to his age, admitted arson not endangering life at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
  • Footage showed a figure setting light to a bottle of liquid and throwing it through a window at the synagogue on Saturday night.
  • The incident caused minor smoke damage to an internal room but resulted in no injuries or significant structural damage.
  • The boy was released on bail with conditions, including not entering any synagogue, and is due to appear at Willesden Youth Court on 4 June. A 19-year-old man also arrested in connection with the attack has been bailed.
