
PITAS: A four-year-old suffered multiple bites and scratches all over his body and head after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs, here, on Wednesday.
Kota Marudu District Police Chief Supt Zairolnizal Ishak said the incident happened at 6.05am at an open space along Jalan Mampakad Laut.
He said the boy was sent to the Pitas Hospital and had since been referred to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Likas, Kota Kinabalu, and was reported to be in stable condition.
A couple, he added, came to the boy’s rescue and sent him to the Pitas Hospital, and filed a police report at 8.24am the same day.

Read more The husband and wife were said to be on their way to Dataran Bengkoka in town on a motorcycle when they noticed a pack of six to seven dogs clustering around something on the ground and biting it.
The woman who was shocked to see a shirtless boy lying on the ground called out to her husband to chase away the dogs.
It is understood that the boy’s mother had earlier gone out from the house on foot to work but she did not realise her son had trailed behind her.
The mother had left the boy under the care of his grandmother.
The distance from their house to her place of work was about 300 metres and the boy was attacked some 100 metres from the house.
