Boy, 4, seriously injured after being hit by Range Rover while crossing road

A four-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car, Kent Police have said.

Police said a black Range Rover was involved in a collision with a young pedestrian on Nelson Road in Gillingham at 4.12pm on Friday.

The boy was reported to have been crossing the road before the incident, detectives said.

Officers and paramedics attended the scene and the child was taken to a London hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Detectives are urging witnesses to come forward following the crash as the boy recovers in hospital.

The road was closed as an investigation was completed by Kent Police’s serious collision investigation unit (SCIU), with officers now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

Anyone with information can call the SCIU appeal line on 01622 798538, or email sciu.td@kent.police.uk, quoting reference XX/KA/051/26.
