- The family, who had travelled from Ilford in east London, released a statement expressing gratitude for the care Musa received at the Royal London Hospital and for community support, while requesting privacy.
- Essex Police confirmed they are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the tragedy, noting that family members made significant efforts to help each other and praising members of the public who rushed to assist.
- Musa's father, Shahin Ahmed, has called for a review of safety measures at West Mersea Beach, including additional life-saving equipment and clear warning signage, to prevent similar future tragedies.
