
Tuaran: A 10-year-old boy was injured after a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder exploded in the kitchen of his home in Kampung Berungis, on Sunday.
District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) Chief, Senior Fire Superintendent Mohammad Nor Amit, said the department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 2:32pm.
AdvertisementHe said a team of 15 personnel, including officers, was dispatched to the scene with a fire engine and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) utility vehicle.
“Upon arrival, the fire team found that the injured child had already been taken to a nearby hospital by members of the public.

The victim, who was home alone, turned on the refrigerator socket, causing a spark that led to the explosion,” he said.
According to Mohammad Nor, the victim is currently receiving treatment at Tuaran Hospital for facial injuries.
