LAHAD DATU: An 11-year-old boy died after he was believed to have been slashed by his stepfather’s friend at their house in Felda Sahabat 30 worker’s quarters, here, Saturday.

In the incident, the victim was left under the suspect’s watch as his parents went to work at the plantation.

Read more District Police Chief ACP Dr Rohan Shah Ahmad said the initial investigation found the boy’s body covered in blood with wounds caused by a sharp object believed to be a machete on his head and neck while his left hand was severed.

“Investigation is ongoing under Section 302 of the Penal Code, and police are actively tracking down the suspect, a 33-year-old Indonesian man identified as Paulus Poka Lolo,” he said, in a statement on Saturday night.

According to Rohan, the suspect, a general worker at the plantation, disappeared after the incident.

Rohan also requested cooperation from the public, especially in Felda Sahabat areas to provide information to the nearest police station or contact Criminal Investigation Division head ASP Kharuddin Hussain at 013-9071709, to help track down the suspect.
