Everton youngster Jarrad Branthwaite is setting his sights on grabbing a first team spot.
The talented defender was on loan at PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Eredivisie last term.
Branthwaite now wants to make it a go of being a first team player at Goodison Park this term.
Branthwaite told the club website: For me, I know I need to come in, have a strong pre-season and secure a place for next season.
I have got the experience I need to come back and get into the team. Overall, I need to have a strong pre-season and go from there."
PSV had been hoping to secure the defender, but appear to have given up on that transfer.
