  • Estonia summoned a Russian diplomat after three Russian MIG-31 fighter jets illegally entered its airspace over the Gulf of Finland for 12 minutes.
  • Italian Air Force F-35 fighter jets, currently deployed as part of the Nato Baltic Air Policing Mission, responded to Russia’s violation of Estonian airspace
  • Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhna described the incursion as "unprecedentedly brazen," marking the fourth such violation this year.
  • Nato responded immediately and intercepted the Russian jets which violated Estonian airspace, a Nato spokesperson said in a statement on social media X on Friday.
  • The Russian charge d’affaires was summoned and given a protest note, a ministry statement said.
