Brazilian Confederation president Ednaldo Rodrigues has set a deadline for Carlo Ancelotti to take the national team job.
Rodrigues has openly declared the Real Madrid coach their No1 target to take charge of the Selecao.
And he's now stated he wants Brazil's new coach to be appointed by May 25.
Rodrigues said: "Before going to plan B, I want to exhaust all the possibilities of plan A.
"We have a commitment to society and we must listen to their cries, which also guide us."
