Datuk Seri Najib Razak has been sentenced to 15 years’ in prison in the 1MDB case. On Friday (Dec 26), trial judge Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah on Friday (Dec 26) delivered the sentence and fined the former prime minister RM11.4bil. The High Court has delivered its long-awaited verdict in the RM2.8bil 1MDB trial, capping more than seven years of courtroom battles in one of Malaysia’s most consequential corruption cases. Earlier, Najib had been found guilty of all four charges of misappropriating 1MDB funds and 21 counts of money laundering.
