Brentford boss Thomas Frank was delighted with their rout of Southampton.

Brentford beat Southampton 3-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium, with Josh Dasilva and Yoane Wissa scoring in the opening 45 and Mathias Jensen adding the third goal with 10 minutes to go.

And Frank was delighted with the way his side started the game against the Saints on Saturday afternoon.

He said: I think the first half was an overall performance, maybe the most complete this season, because I think we controlled and dominated Southampton.

We created a lot of good chances and opportunities where there was, of course, some clear-cut chances, but also some last-second blocks from Southampton.

I really liked the way we looked in the first half, we scored two good goals.

The second half was a little bit more even. Of course, Southampton had to go for it hard. I think we defended well, but I would have loved us to be a tiny bit more composed in spells.

But we scored a fantastic goal to make it 3-0, that goal was very good, and we were more or less in control."

Frank opted for a back four, with Aaron Hickey returning to the starting XI for the first time since the start of October.

And Frank was pleased to see the Scot back in the side, which means the Bees have close to everyone in the squad fit.

It's nice to see him back, really good. I think he played well in the 60 minutes, so it was promising," Frank stated.

I'm pleased that Mads [Roerslev] came in and did very well after, so we need a lot of players in the squad to contribute to these performances."

He added: I think for the first time in a long time, we've only got Pontus [Jansson] and Frank [Onyeka] not available, so I think that's the lowest number of players we haven't had available so far this season.

You can see how strong the squad is - they are full of confidence, the way they're playing. I really like that."
