Brentford boss Thomas Frank says he was always confident keeping hold of Ivan Toney.
The England striker was being linked with Arsenal and Chelsea last month, but remained a Bees player as the transfer deadline fell.
Frank said: "Ivan will stay.
"I was pretty sure, and I said that from the beginning, that I thought Ivan would stay with us. So I wasn't worried. But in general, it is clear that it is nice to know what you have to work with."
Toney has a contract with Brentford to 2025.
