Brentford boss Thomas Frank has declared that Newcastle United have what it takes to finish in the top six in the coming years.

The Bees manager was asked about Eddie Howe's side, who have lost only one of their first eight league matches so far this season.

Brentford travel to Newcastle this weekend, aware that they are taking on a team on the up that is in great form.

"There is no doubt that Newcastle are aiming to be a top six side in the future," Frank said to reporters ahead of the game.

"Eddie Howe, his staff, and players have done a very good job so far.

"Last year, they stabilised the club and this year they have only lost to Liverpool. He had made them much more front-footed and aggressive."

Frank added: "They look very strong, dynamic, physical, and aggressive. St James' Park is one of the most difficult grounds to go to but we are up for the challenge. We will go out there with the best intentions of getting three points"
