Brentford boss Thomas Frank was upbeat after their 1-0 Carabao Cup defeat at Arsenal.

The Gunners won 1-0 thanks to an early Reiss Nelson goal.

Frank later said: I asked for a bounce-back performance from the players, and they gave me that.

The second half was top. We pushed Arsenal back, created a lot of good chances and were very unlucky not to score. The margins didn't drop our way.

I was very pleased with the performance and that's what we need to continue with going into the game [against Nottingham Forest] on Sunday."

Frank continued: We created good moments, pressed very well and high and won the ball back a lot of times.

We created all the chances that you can ask for in a game like this and on another day they go in the back of the net.

It's very tough to take that we didn't get something out of it, but tomorrow with the 24-hour rule I won't be too disappointed. We need to look at the positives and move forward."
