Brentford burned off major competition to sign Seongnam FC defender Kim Ji-Soo.
The Bees will pay 500,000 to sign the U20 South Korea international, says the Daily Mail.
The 18-year-old was named in the team of the tournament for the Under 20 World Cup and has been compared to Kim Min-Jae of Napoli.
Kim is due in England in the coming days to sign a four-year contract.
Bayern Munich and Sporting CP were also interested in the youngster.
