Brentford defender Mads Roerslev has paid tribute to former FC Copenhagen teammate Tom Hogli.
Roerslev has impressed in the Premier League this season.
The Dane, speaking with the club's website, was asked about his defensive game: ":I got a lot of inspiration in my man-to-man defence from a guy who played in Copenhagen when I was there. Tom Hogli.
"He wasn't very fast. He wasn't very big, and he was also a little old, but there was no one who could get past him. I thought, 'It can't be this'.
"After training I asked him if we could have some one on one duels and I thought I could get past him.
"But he knew exactly what distance he should have me at. If I took a big touch, then he could put his body in front and accelerate.
"He taught me a lot."
