Brentford defender Ben Mee rates Nemanja Vidic ahead of Liverpool centre-half Virgil van Dijk.
Mee was corresponding with Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher on social media and says the former Manchester United captain gets his nod over Van Dijk due to longevity.
Mee said: "I knew you were going to ask me that.
"Different players...I think Vidic was a better player for a longer period of time, Van Dijk has been good for Liverpool in this period but I think Vidic has..
"It's not about doing it for long enough, it's just Vidic has done it for longer."
Asked for the Premier League's greatest, the former Manchester City youth teamer declared: "I like them two (John Terry and Rio Ferdinand) but I am going (Vincent) Kompany."
