Ukraine winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, who was wanted by Arsenal and other top sides in January, has struggled since joining the Blues.
Mudryk was on the bench as his side lost 2-0 to Brentford in the Premier League on Wednesday.
The Bees fans even savagely mocked his plight, with chants of "You should have signed for the big club" ringing around the ground when he was warming up.
The 22-year-old has not scored in 12 appearances and has barely featured since Frank Lampard took over as caretaker.
