Follow live coverage as Brentford face Crystal Palace today in the Premier League. Another top-flight season will be covered in full right here with The Independent, as reigning champions Manchester City look to make it an unprecedented five titles in a row come the end of 2024/25.
The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.
Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:

With just over five minutes to go until the interval, it's the Bees doing most of the pressing. That Eze disallowed goal will be a talking point, especially with the hosts going and scoring almost immediately up the other end.

The hosts come forward in numbers, but Wissa just delays playing the ball to his left and the attack fizzles out as the visitors get back. There's been a dearth of real attacking quality in this game so far, though that's perhaps to be expected in the sides' first game of the campaign.

Michael Olise will be a big miss for Palace this season after his departure for Bayern Munich in this transfer window, though Glasner will be glad to still have the likes of Guehi and Eze in his team. For how much longer they will remain at Selhurst Park remains to be seen with a host of clubs interested in the pair, though for now they will be focused on getting the Eagles' season off to a strong start.
