
LABUAN: Two individuals were arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) here on suspicion of accepting a bribe of approximately RM4,000.
According to sources, the two law enforcers received the money as an inducement to not take action against a suspect for narcotic offences.
Both were arrested at about 3pm Saturday when they appeared to provide evidence at the Labuan MACC office.
The officer and personnel working in the narcotics branch are believed to have received bribes of approximately RM3,000 through deposit machines and the remainder through several online banking transfers.

He said the case was investigated under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009.
