Brighton needed an Aro Muric own goal to earn the point.
De Zerbi said: We didn't deserve to win the game and we didn't deserve to lose the game.
We suffered especially in the first 20 minutes but after that I think we played a good game.
Not a great game but we are not in the right condition to play get games at the moment.
We are suffering, we are having a tough moment, a tough period, but anyway we have to fight how we did - with pride, with qualities."
On their sluggish start, De Zerbi said: I have not too many answers.
We are too many points from the high positions to reach a European target.
It can happen but I would like to know why we started the game like that."
