Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi has hinted Billy Gilmour could see action today against FA Cup opponents Liverpool.
Adam Lallana is injured, Alexis Mac Allister is set for a one-match ban in the Premier League and Moises Caicedo is currently out of the reckoning.
That could open a chance for Gilmour to shine.
Asked what Gilmour must do to get his chance, De Zerbi said: Stay focused on improving and working hard in this period.
When you have Mac Allister and Caicedo it is very hard to find space [in the team] but this is football, this is life.
He has to wait for the right moment and in that moment he has to be ready to play well, like Arsenal, and show his quality."
