Graham Potter wants to take recruitment analyst Kyle Macaulay with him to Chelsea.
The Brighton manager has been granted permission to speak with the Blues after they sacked Thomas Tuchel.
According to The Telegraph, Potter wants to take his assistants, Billy Reid and Bjorn Hamberg, as well as Macaulay to Stamford Bridge.
Potter and Macaulay have worked together at Ostersunds, Swansea City and Brighton.
Macaulay has played a prominent role in the Seagulls' much-lauded recruitment in recent years.
Chelsea currently have a vacuum in their recruitment department, with new owner Todd Boehly having taken up an interim sporting director role following the departure of Marina Granovskaia.
