Brighton chief exec Paul Barber admits Moises Caicedo had his "head turned" by Arsenal during the January market.

Ecuador midfielder Caicedo posted his desire to leave on social media as two bids were reportedly rejected - but he then signed a new contract with the Seagulls after the January window.

Barber told talkSPORT: Moises, to his absolute credit, has got his head down, worked hard and he is happy around the club again. He is a very good footballer.

There was never a moment in the window when we felt we needed or wanted to sell Moises.

He needed an arm around the shoulder and a bit of support. We know his head was turned, and we know why."
