Brighton are ready to make an improved bid for Chelsea defender Levi Colwill.
Colwill spent the season on-loan at Brighton, which had an offer of 30m turned down by Chelsea last week.
Now Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is reporting: "Brighton are now preparing a new, record bid for Levi Colwill close to 40m to be submitted soon.
"Chelsea turned down 30m bid last week.
"Chelsea always had the same position: Colwill is part of long term project, no intention to sell him."
