- His mother, Natasha, confirmed his death, stating her worst fear came true when police informed her on 11 May.
- Mr Redfearn had joined a specialist unit supporting the Ukrainian army in 2025, having previously been a Torquay Air Cadet and serving in the RAF.
- Natasha expressed gratitude for the tributes and support, highlighting her son's strength, bravery, and courage.
- The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office is supporting Mr Redfearn's family and reiterates its warning to British nationals about the high risks of fighting in Ukraine, including death, capture, or maltreatment.
