Britpop legends Pulp have announced a documentary and concert film and an accompanying live album. The film, "Pulp: What Do You Do For an Encore?", directed by Garth Jennings ("The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"), is set to stream on MUBI in the autumn.

The accompanying album, "Live!", will be released on August 28, the band announced on Wednesday.

"A concert is an event where songs come back to life," Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker said. "That’s why this album is called ‘Live!’. It’s both a statement of fact (it’s a recording of a live band) and a challenge (come on! Everyone come alive!)."

The film centres on two Pulp concerts at the O2 Arena in London in June 2025, at a time when the group was topping the British charts with "More," their first album in 24 years. Cocker tells the story of the band, while director Jennings draws on archive material spanning more than 40 years.

Pulp were founded in Sheffield in 1978 but had their most successful period in the 1990s as part of the Britpop movement alongside Oasis and Blur. Among their biggest hits are "Disco 2000" and "Common People."

Jennings first worked with Pulp in 1997, when he directed the music video for "Help the Aged."

Pulp have finished a number of concerts in South America and are set to tour Germany, France, Spain, the UK and Ireland in June and July.
