Broadcaster Tony Livesey leaves BBC Radio 5 Live after 16 years

• BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Tony Livesey has officially departed the station after 16 years, following a period of absence that began nearly two months ago.
• His exit comes amid scrutiny over his past role as editor-in-chief for newspapers owned by David Sullivan, who was the subject of a Panorama investigation.
• The investigation and reports in The Times detailed accounts from seven women alleging sexually exploitative and predatory behaviour by David Sullivan during the 1980s and 1990s, when he owned the Daily Sport and Sunday Sport.
• Livesey, who edited these papers, faced questions after one alleged victim claimed he arranged a meeting between her and Sullivan, an accusation Livesey denies having any recollection of.
• Heidi Dawson, Radio 5 Live controller, confirmed Livesey's departure in a note to colleagues, thanking him for his 16 years of service and wishing him well for his future endeavours.
