Bruce Campbell says he has only five years left to live after cancer diagnosis

  • Evil Dead actor Bruce Campbell has revealed he has been given a five-year prognosis after being diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer.
  • The 68-year-old star, who initially disclosed his diagnosis in March, stated on The Adam Carolla Show that he has chosen to live with the illness rather than fall down a rabbit hole of research and focus groups.
  • Campbell is currently focusing on promoting his upcoming film Ernie & Emma, which he wrote, directed and produced in alongside his wife Ida Gearon.
  • The film follows a retired pear salesman scattering his deceased wife's ashes, a storyline Campbell described as fascinating timing given his own health situation.
  • Campbell is best known for playing Ash Williams in Sam Raimi's 1981 cult horror classic The Evil Dead, a role he reprised across multiple sequels and television series.
