Buc-ee's, the beaver-mascoted gas station and rest stop chain known for its size and expansive road-food variety, has announced six new locations, according to the company.
The new locations are part of the company's overall expansion push that is currently underway. The company has already opened four locations in 2026, including Ohio's first Buc-ee's, a new center in Arizona marking its westernmost location, and stores in Arkansas and Texas.
The company announced this week that it will open six more locations in 2027, with more expected in 2028 and later.
The six stores expected to open in 2027 are located in Forsyth, Georgia; Kansas City, Kansas; Gallaway, Tennessee; Boerne, Texas; Ruston, Louisiana; Mebane, North Carolina.
Beyond those six stores, Buc-ee's has expansion plans stretching into the next decade.
Arkansas will get its second Buc-ee's sometime in 2029, according to the company. The state's first Buc-ee's just opened in August.
The company has been pushing hard to expand its reach in Florida. One store, which was meant to open in 2027 in Fort Pierce, will instead have to open in 2028, according to WPEC.
Another store is scheduled to open in Ocala in 2029. Port Charlotte appears as though it will soon be receiving a Buc-ee's despite some public opposition to the construction, and a new proposal aims to put a Buc-ee's in Tallahassee, though that plan still requires approval from county leaders, according to The Hill.
Further north in Georgia, work has already begun on the Buc-ee's location in Forsyth. When it opens next year, it will become the state's fourth Buc-ee's.
In the Midwest, Greenwood, Indiana may become the recipient of the state's first Buc-ee's if its local leadership approves a plan for a new site.
There's also a Buc-ee's location being discussed for Whitestown, Indiana, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal.
Kansas City will soon have Kansas's first-ever Buc-ee's. It's slated to open next year and is reportedly already hiring.
A new Buc-ee's is underway in Oak Grove, Kentucky. That location is expected to open sometime in 2029.
In addition to the Ruston, Louisiana, location — which will become the state's first Buc-ee's upon its opening — another location is being built in Lafayette, though that location is not expected to finish until 2028.
Construction has started on what may become Buc-ee's northernmost store in Oak Creek, which is just south of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Buc-ee's is trying to open two new stores in Virginia, including one in Stafford County and another in New Kent County.
Springville, Utah, is also reportedly going to have a Buc-ee's.
It's not a coincidence that Buc-ee's expansion map seems focused on building in conservative-leaning states
The company's CEO, Arch "Beaver" Aplin III, recently made comments suggesting he preferred to build in "conservative, business-friendly" states.
“I’m starting to realize life’s too short to try to build in places that people don’t appreciate what you’re bringing, versus a place like this where people do appreciate what you’re building,” he continued. “So that leadership, that concept, that idea of conservative, business-friendly, family-oriented concept, works so much better if it trickles down from the very leadership from the top...," he said during a Buc-ee's grand opening ceremony in Benton, Arkansas.
Only a third of the states with a Buc-ee's has a Democratic governor.
