Budget 2023: PNB To Raise ASB & ASB2 Holding Limit, ASM Fund Size

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has proposed to increase the maximum individual investment limit for both Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) and Amanah Saham Bumiputera 2 (ASB2) in his Budget 2023 presentation today. On top of that, he also announced that the fund size of Amanah Saham Malaysia (ASM) will be increased.

Specifically, Datuk Seri Anwar said that the maximum investment limit for individuals in ASB and ASB2 will be raised to RM300,000. At present, the holding limit for ASB and ASB2 funds is set at RM200,000. To note, this proposal was also included in the first version of Budget 2023, when it was tabled back in October 2022.

Aside from that, Datuk Seri Anwar also said that the government will increase the size of the ASM fund by RM5 billion from its current amount (equivalent to 5 billion units).

The prime minister noted as well the introduction of these efforts will support the increase of investment holdings within the bumiputera community within Malaysia.
