Budget 2023: RM1.2 bil to repair clinics and schools

KUALA LUMPUR – The government will expedite infrastructure projects for schools and clinics to ensure the welfare of the people is taken care of.

In tabling the revised Budget 2023, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also finance minister, said 400 clinics and 389 schools will be repaired with an allocation of RM1.2 billion by the end of this year.

“This year, we will begin the ‘giant project’ of repairing 400 clinics under the Health Ministry and 380 schools under the Education Ministry, to which RM1.2bil has been allocated,” he said.

He also said the government will allow some flexibility over the quotation limit for the procurement of repair work though there is a tender process.

He also said the government would allocate RM2.7 billion to maintain and upgrade federal roads and carry out minor maintenance works. – The Vibes, February 24, 2023
