Budget 2024: RM2,500 tax relief for EV charging facilities extended to four years

During the tabling of Budget 2024, the Malaysian government announced an extension for the RM2,500 tax relief for EV charging facilities which include installation of EV chargers at home. Introduced during Budget 2022, individuals can enjoy a personal income tax relief of up to RM2,500 for the cost of purchase and installation, rental, hire purchase and subscription for EV charging facilities.

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the government will extend the individual tax relief up to RM2,500 for the expenditure on EV charging facilities for a period of four years. He added that tax relief for EV rentals will be extended by two more years.
