KUALA LUMPUR – The government has allocated RM200 million for the Sejahtera Madani Grant to provide equipment and training assistance to 40,000 recipients, particularly women.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the initiative was aimed at helping individuals who possess skills but lack the capital to purchase the equipment needed to start or expand their businesses.
Tabling Budget 2027 at the Dewan Negara today, Anwar cited the example of a woman in Penang who had sewing skills but needed equipment assistance to turn her abilities into a source of income.
The grant aims to help recipients overcome such financial barriers and translate their skills into income-generating opportunities. - October 9, 2026
