Buffon hails AC Milan keeper Maignan: I saw him in France

Gigi Buffon isn't surprised seeing Mike Maignan succeed with AC Milan.

Parma goalkeeper Gigi Buffon was aware of Maignan while playing in France for PSG.

The 26-year-old was signed from Lille for €13m last year.

"I congratulated (Paolo) Maldini for buying him," said Buffon. "When I was in Paris he impressed me."

Maignan was named Serie A's Goalkeeper of the Year last night.
