These exclusive "Legends" series of hypercars, priced at a staggering US$3 million each, represent the lavish lifestyle enjoyed by the elites at the expense of the Malaysian people.
The seizure, carried out by Germany's Criminal Investigation Department 7, underscores the international ramifications of the 1MDB scandal, which involved a web of politicians, bankers, and even Hollywood stars.
The scandal, which came to light in 2015, revealed how Najib Razak siphoned over US$700 million from 1MDB into his personal accounts, shocking Malaysians and the world.
Najib's subsequent conviction and sentencing in connection with the SRC International case, a subsidiary of 1MDB, highlighted the depth of corruption within Malaysia's political elite.
