Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Housing and Urban Development Board (LPPB) Chairman, Datuk Masiung Banah suggested that the State Government provide special allocations to build transit houses for students to rent.

Masiung, who is also Kuamut Assemblyman, said house rental costs are very expensive and burdensome to students.

“If in the past, the government created transit houses for the public, maybe the State Government should also create transit houses for students for a period of two or three years while they are studying and once they graduated, the vacant houses can be rented out to incoming students, he said this in response to a question from a student during the Student Dialogue programme held at the Dewan Al-Bukhari, UiTM Sabah branch, here.

The dialogue was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister III cum Minister of Public Works, Datuk Ir Shahelmey Yahya as an invited panel.
