Bulan Malaysia Sihat Sejahtera (BMSS) is an initiative aspired to strengthen collaborative ties between strategic partners in planning and implementing programs and activities that promote a healthy lifestyle culture in an integrated and comprehensive manner since 2022. The BMSS celebration is held as a highlight of public engagement activities and serves as a culmination of the whole-of-nation approach in implementing initiatives that contribute to the well-being of Malaysians.

The launch of the Healthy Living Mall initiative as the main highlight was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, Minister of Health on 20th September 2025. This initiative emphasizes the active involvement of the commercial sector, particularly shopping malls, in promoting a healthy lifestyle culture. This is because shopping malls bring together all target groups, including teenagers, adults, senior citizens, and families. Among the components of this initiative are:
- Staying active: Providing walking route signage, playgrounds and recreational areas and healing spaces
- Recycling: e-waste collection together with MyCHAMPION volunteers
- Food safety and quality: Promotion of Healthier Choice Logo (HCL) products and Clean and Safe (BeSS) recognition
- Media promotion such as in lifts, shopping trolleys and digital platforms
- Being free from cigarette smoke and vaping

The BMSS celebration across the country was further brought to life by a variety of engaging activities tailored to the context and unique characteristics of local communities. Each state showcased creative and inclusive approaches to promoting a healthy lifestyle culture, particularly through the active involvement of shopping malls as community hubs.

In addition, Wellness Hub Open Days were held nationwide in conjunction with BMSS, while the expansion of the initiative into educational institutions through BMSS@HePiLi further strengthened the programme's reach.

Overall, recent BMSS celebration recorded an impressively encouraging level of participation, with 747,725 physical participations, 4,066 programmes or activities implemented, and the involvement of 2,376 strategic partners throughout the country.

In conclusion, BMSS is more than just a celebration; it symbolizes national solidarity in the effort to build a healthier and more prosperous life. This momentum will continue to be strengthened to ensure a more sustainable health future for Malaysians.
