KOTA KINABALU: Sabah UMNO chief Datuk Bung Moktar Radin affirmed that Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah will only cooperate with parties that are sincere and transparent.

"I will only work with parties that are honest and don’t deceive. If a party lies, there's no basis for cooperation," he said after attending the MADANI Rural Leadership Convention at SICC.

While open to alliances for the upcoming 17th Sabah state election, Bung emphasised any potential partner must change and show sincerity. He also said BN has not yet decided how many seats to contest but will aim for as many winnable ones as possible.

Bung also revealed no one-on-one talks have been held with Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), stressing discussions should happen directly without intermediaries. He prefers post-election coalitions based on actual results rather than assumptions.

BN Sabah, he said, remains on good terms with Pakatan Harapan (PH), though further discussions are needed before any formal negotiation.
