
PAPAR: Police here believe they have solved five burglary cases, with the arrest of five individuals in a series of operations carried out in Kinarut and Putatan.
District Police Chief DSP Kamaruddin Ambo Sakka said a team from the district Criminal Investigation Department (CID) launched the operation following a report on March 29 that a premises near Palm Square Condominium was broken into and items worth RM3,000 were stolen.
He said four suspects aged between 32 and 43 were detained on April 4 and 5 at separate locations in Kinarut and Putatan.
“Several items including a generator, a gas cylinder, cables, cutters, grinders and car components, as mentioned in the police report, were recovered.
“A Perodua Viva believed used to commit the crimes was also confiscated. Following the arrests and interrogation, another suspect was detained on April 8 and several items such as a generator, a welding set, a gas cylinder and four tyre rims were seized,” he added.
The suspects were subsequently remanded for investigation under Section 380 of the Penal Code for burglary.
Kamaruddin urged the public to continue playing their role in channelling information to the authorities on criminal activities in their respective areas.
