Burnley boss Vincent Kompany concedes Everton deserved their win on Saturday night.
The Blues won 2-0 at Turf Moor via goals from Amadou Onana and Michael Keane.
Kompany later said: "There's not much to assess. The game can be played in a certain way but the result they gained in both boxes. Two set-plays got them their goals and then there are moments when the ball is cleared off the line and hits the crossbar and I don't think we get to feel sorry for ourselves and the game gets played in both boxes and that's where we have lacked today.
"You've got to get through it. It is part of how you become a professional footballer and hopefully, for some, a top-level professional football. I don't think you get to feel sorry for yourself. I don't expect fighting for survival to be easy. I think you expect moments like this. Unless you get both boxes better than opponent, you get very little comfort from it."
Asked how Burnley can get out of the dropzone, Kompany added: "Fight. You have to. You have to embrace it.
"It's a way of being. Other people can be different. It is not easy for everyone but I grew up like this and I am the last person to go home now and think negative things. For me, everything is possible. We are in games, but we have to be the best in both boxes now."
