Burnley boss Vincent Kompany was delighted after their 2-1 win against Brentford.

Sergio Reguilon was sent off for the Bees on eight minutes before Jacob Bruun Larsen from the resulting penalty and David Datro Fofana struck.

Kompany said: This was good. This was big for us. We get to enjoy it this weekend.

I think we started well. We didn't wait for the game to happen and forced them into a mistake early doors. We created big chances today.

We could have had more goals of course, and if you've not put a game to bed you have to grind it out. But we did that.

I just want the team to be alive. We'll enjoy it today, then get back to work."

On leaving James Trafford on the bench, he added: It's not a big decision at all. I always try to do what's best for the team. We chose the player that was ready for this game."
