Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has no doubts about the potential of Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez.

Nunez has struggled for consistency over his 18 months with the Reds.

"These types of strikers, they are top strikers," Kompany said. "In the end, you can always have a season where you find your feet a little bit.

"The pace is always there. Does he have ability? I don't think anyone would doubt that. He has ability. Has he got the work-rate for the team?

"Is he living it? Is he passionate about what he does for the team? I don't think anyone would doubt that. And then whether it happens in six months or whether it takes a year or two, that's a different discussion.

"But you worry about players when the intensity and the desire and the work-rate aren't there. Because even at that level, you can be as talented as you want [but] you won't survive. He has the basics, so the rest is just a matter of time."
