Burnley are ready to deal in Andros Townsend.
The winger is a free agent after coming off contract at Everton and has been training with the Clarets in preseason.
BBC Sport says he has impressed Burnley manager Vincent Kompany, who is ready to hand him a 12-month deal.
Townsend last saw competitive action in March 2022 due to a knee injury.
This summer with Burnley, he played the full 90 minutes against Benfica and featured in friendlies against Real Betis and Genk.
